Who We Are

Generational Dads is an organization that was created from a place of wanting to be not just good, but great dads and husbands one day. It started with a group of friends in their early 20s wanting to attain this, and agreeing to keep each other accountable to reach that goal. It is our deepest desire to become better dads, husbands, and community leaders each and every day. We believe God has called us as men to do just that. We look to Him to accomplish this. And, because we desired this, we looked for resources and support. Anything that we could get our hands on that could help us learn more about being better dads. Although, there wasn’t the organized and comprehensive hub of knowledge, resources, and experiences that was available to our wives. So, out of necessity, we began Generational Dads. A community of men of all ages and backgrounds, different levels of experience and wisdom. We provide dads with our own designed materials, but lean on resources and materials that we really like as well. We made Generational Dads so that we could learn more and be more equipped. Join us as we go on this journey to become great dads.

Generational Dads exists to walk alongside men in their formation journey. We do this by providing resources, community, and support to help men be the best dads, husbands, and leaders that they can be. It is our belief that God’s calling for our lives is to aspire to this, and we aim to answer that call.

Mission Statement

What We Believe

  • You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)

We aim to glorify Jesus in all that we do. And, as dads, share the truths of the Bible with our family. We aim to make our home a place where Jesus is lifted high. As dads, we glorify God by living into His design for fatherhood.

  • Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. (Ephesians 5:25)

As fathers of our household, we are to sacrifice ourselves, pouring out everything for our families and the local church. First and foremost, our families and then our community. We are to love our families with everything that we have until we are empty. Paul is very clear in his letter to the Ephesians that the husband, the father must give himself up as Christ gave himself up for the church when he died on the cross.

  • All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

We are called as men, and as leaders of our household to guide our family in the truths of scripture. This starts with us as dads and our personal love for the Word. Then, teaching our children the Bible. We are responsible for studying God’s Word and putting in the work to equip ourselves to teach our family.

  • As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. (Psalm 103:13)

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (John 14:26)

The Holy Spirit teaches us, guarantees salvation for us, helps us in prayer, He comforts us with joy. He gives us our spiritual gifts that empower and build up the church. The Holy Spirit also convicts us and brings to light our faults. Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is especially important for our growth as dads. We look to the Trinity as our guide to grow and develop. God the Father shows us what a true, good father looks like; Jesus, revealed to us the manifestation of this through his life and death on the cross; The Holy Spirit empowers us to do what has been revealed to us: to be a compassionate father, like our Father in Heaven.
